Our Goal
WinningSportsPlays.com goal is to provide consistent winning weeks throughout the season. Like everyone we do have some losing days but overall we definitely win big for our clients over time. We are a rare breed in this industry - an ethical and honest service that wins consistently.
Sports Wagering
Remember, sports wagering is a business! It is an investment and can pay you well. However, the keys to being successful are to establish a realistic bankroll, practice good money management and stay disciplined! You should keep records of your wins, losses, and how much money you are winning or losing as a result; and don’t forget to deduct any fees paid to services!
Money Management
The reason why 99% of sports bettors lose is POOR MONEY MANAGEMENT. Even if you access our service selections, or anyone else’s, they are worthless without a good money management system in place. There are many successful money management systems available. Bottom line, choose one and stick with it.
What is Bankroll?
Bankroll is the amount of money you have set aside for wagering. Think of it like start up money for a new businesYour bankroll does not include money used to pay the mortgage or car payment. In fact it is probably a good idea that you create a separate bank account to assure that "mistakes" don’t happen.
What is a "unit"?
A "unit" is the base amount you work from when wagering. A "unit" should be an amount you are comfortable in wagering on a consistent basis and can risk losing. For some a "unit" may be stated as a percentage (ie. 2% of total bankroll) and for others it may be stated as a dollar amount (ie. $100). Regardless, most experts will tell you that you should never wager more than 5% of your total bankroll on any one game.
What You Need to Know Before Wagering
Before wagering you must understand and accept a few things up front:
- You are not going to win every day or every week! That is a fact! Everyone goes through hot and cold streaks but those who are successful adhere to good money management practices.
- There is no such thing as a "LOCK" like some handicappers want you to believe! You have no control over the way a ball bounces or an injury that happens during a game and ultimately influences the outcome. There are simply too many variables in any single game to be positive the outcome of the game will go your way.
- DO NOT chase losses! If you have a bad day, or even a bad week, DO NOT attempt to get it all back on one play! If you lose the first game on Saturday afternoon DO NOT load up on the Saturday night game! The sooner you come to grips with the fact that it is IMPOSSIBLE to win everyday the more successful you will be!
- Limit the number of selections you wager on! Another reason why people fail is because they wager on too many games! You WILL NOT win consistently by playing 10-15 games per day. Identify the top prospects on any given day and play those only. Most professionals will only play 1-3 selections per day. Any more than that will greatly increase your chances of losing!
Should I Use a Service?
Many people love the rush that comes along with sports wagering and want to make the investment but simply lack the time and/or resources to make good informed decisions. These are the people that benefit most from a service. However, sports services are like any other business; there are good ones and bad ones! The toughest thing for the sports investor is to decipher between the real services and the professional Touts.
What are Touts? Touts are not handicappers! They are professional marketing people that prey on people when they are most vulnerable! They look for those who are losing, feeling desperate, and promise them the world but rarely deliver! These are people that hide behind the glitz and glamour of fancy websites and marketing campaigns! These are the same people that issue a Game of the Week, Game of the Year, or Lock of a Lifetime on a daily basis! Rarely will you ever see a Tout rationalize WHY they are even recommending a particular play. Warning signs to look for include solicitations typed in ALL CAPS or BOLD and BIG fees to get their selections! Here are some questions to ask that can assist you in finding the right service for you:
Does the service have a legitimate website and business e-mail address?
Does the service rationalize their selections?
How responsive is the service to your needs?
Is the service monitored by an independent source?
In closing, the problem with most gamblers is they don’t look at sports wagering as an investment. Always remember that sports wagering is not a sprint it’s a marathon. If you stay disciplined and adhere to good money management practices sports wagering can be a very lucrative investment.
